The disease is deadly and although advancements in medical science have increased the life span and quality of cancer patients survival, beating it completely is a big thing. As the world celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day today on June 2 to honour those who fought this lethal disease and emerged victorious, know about a few Bollywood celebrities who managed to beat cancer and are currently enjoying good health.

The Nepali beauty who is currently in the limelight for her stunning performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was shocked when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few years ago. After undergoing elaborate treatment including chemotherapy, the Saudagar actress is now free from cancer. During the filming of Heeramandi, she was not at the peak of her health and often worried about how the extreme scenes, especially those underwater would affect her body.
But Manisha dared to go through all the rigorous shooting sessions and delivered a wonderful performance without getting her health affected.

One of the most beautiful models and actresses during the 90s Sonali Bendre Behl has been known for her stunning figure and grace. She has always maintained good health and weight. So when the doctors detected her with metastatic cancer, the actress could not accept it for a long time. Later on, she went abroad for treatment and the last few years has been living a cancer-free life.
Sanjay Dutt
In August 2020, Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Although the diagnosis and treatment were very difficult for him, the journey built him into a much more resilient soldier.

A few years ago Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with lung cancer which was reportedly in its 4th stage. But timely treatment and proper care ensured that Bollywood’s Munna Bhai recovered completely. Since then he has bounced back in the film industry as one of the most sought-after lead antagonists and has played some memorable roles like Adheera in KGF 2.

The famous Barfi director was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia when he was shooting for Gangster around 2005-06. It is a deadly type of cancer in which recovery is very low. But Anurag Basu successfully managed to beat the cancer and since then has been directing some wonderful movies and judging reality shows.

The Devdas actress was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2021. The actress-turned-politician took a sabbatical from public life for a couple of years and a year ago returned as the judge on a television reality show confirming that she is now cancer-free.
