Actress Sonali Bendre needs no introduction. The 90s diva once ruled over millions of hearts, thanks to her natural beauty, charismatic personality and amazing acting chops. With several hit films in her kitty, Sonali has worked in almost all the industries, including south.

Almost every 90s kid had a crush on her. Even celebrities would go nuts for her and many even wanted to marry her. Among the long list of her admirers are actor Suniel Shetty, Pakistani cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar and Suresh Raina.

It is a well known fact that Shoaib Akhtar was crazy for her and had time and again expressed his fondness for Bendre. The pace bowler even jokingly mentioned proposing marriage to her and humorously threatened that he would kidnap her if she rejected him.

Appearing on a podcast, Bendre has responded to Akhtar’s statements and humbly accepted her popularity in the neighbouring country Pakistan. Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra, Bendre expressed she was uncertain about its realism.

She politely accepted that she doesn’t know how true Akhtar’s statements are and clarified that there were fake news in those times too. Mishra also mentioned Indian cricketer Suresh Raina’s admiration for her and the actress obliged with a smile.

Earlier, there were reports that Sonali was head-over heels with actor Suniel Shetty with whom she has worked in several movies. However, Suniel was then married to his wife Mannara and Sonali later married her childhood best friend and producer Goldie Behl with whom she has a son.

Apart from acting in movies like Sarfarosh, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and Duplicate, Bendre was very popular as the ‘Nirma Beauty’ after appearing in the ad for the Nirma soap. Currently, she is seen as a judge in popular dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer’.
