Saif Ali Khan recently confirmed that his son Ibrahim Ali Khan is going the Bollywood way and is currently working as an assistant with Karan Johar for Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. And this is not surprising for the Bollywood lovers who have seen many actors start their journey as assistant directors and later on debut as male lead through a reputed project.
Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan debuted together with Karan Johar-helmed Student of the Year. But prior to that, both Sid and Varun did a stint as assistant directors to understand the nuances of filmmaking. Both of them worked as assistant directors with the boss of Dharma Productions during the making of My Name is Khan.

When Hrithik Roshan debuted with Kaho Na Pyar Hai, he seemed like an experienced actor. The Krrish actor assisted the Karan Arjun director during the making of Karobaar and King Uncle.
Both Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor who debuted with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sawariya assisted the famous director during the making of Black.
