From Amitabh Bachchan to Ram Charan, celebs with record releases in 2022

The year 2022 has been a roller coaster ride for the Indian film industry. While the year witnessed releases of several iconic movies like KGF Chapter 2, RRR , Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, The Kashmir Files, Brahmastra : Part One- Shiva, et al, a few actors registered maximum releases. 

Here we bring a list of actors who had maximum releases in 2022, from B Town to the South movie industries.

1.    Amitabh Bachchan

Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan had the maximum releases in 2022. This year’s journey started with Jhund and next, it was Runway 34 with Ajay Devgn. His third movie of the year was Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva. Next, it was Goodbye with Rashmika Mandanna and Uunchai with Anupam Kher and Boman Irani. Apart from the above-mentioned movies, Sr Bachchan also played a part in Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam as the movie narrator, Fakt Mahilao Mate in a special appearance (Gujurati) and also had a cameo in Sunny Deol starrer Chup: Revenge of the Artist. 

Certainly, Big B will always remain an inspiration for aspiring actors as well as established actors as even at this age he is a part of 5 movies with prominent characters including the lead ones.

2.    Akshay Kumar

Bollywood’ Khiladi Akshay Kumar also is known for the maximum number of releases in a single year. Akki also registered 5 movie releases in 2022. His journey started with Bachchhan Paandey and next, it was Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan. His last movie this year was Ram Setu. While all other movies failed to entice movie lovers, Ram Setu was highly appreciated. Apart from the theatrical releases, Akki’s Cuttputlli was released on OTT. The movie premiered on Disney+ Hotstar also received huge appreciation. Even he had a cameo in Ayushmann Khurrana starrer An Action Hero.

3.    Ajay Devgn

Bollywood Action Star Ajay Devgn also had a number of releases in 2022. His first release in the year was Runway 34 with Amitabh Bachchan. Then it was Thank God alongside Siddharth Malhotra. His latest release Drishyam 2 emerged as one of the most successful Hindi movies of the year. Moreover, he also played a crucial part in SS Rajamouli’s mega-blockbuster RRR. 

4.    Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana had three movies this year. First, it was Anek, and next it was Doctor G. His recent release is An Action Hero. Though Ayushmann for the first time essayed the role of an action hero, the movie failed to entice moviegoers, unlike his other movies.

5.    Anupam Kher 

Anupam Kher remained the talk of the town for The Kashmir Files. He also played a pivotal role in Karthikeya 2 and Uunchai. 

6.    Nagarjuna Akkineni

Tollywood King Nagarjuna Akkineni had three releases this year. His first release of 2022 was Bangarraju in which he shared the screen space with his son Naga Chaitanya. His next release was The Ghost in which he paired with Sonal Chauhan. His most talked about movie of the year was Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva. Though he had an extended cameo in the movie, his character portrayal was highly appreciated.

7.    Naga Chaitanya

Naga Chaitanya had three releases in 2022. In Bangarraju, he was seen with his father Nagarjuna. He also had Thank You for which he received high appreciation for his character portrayal. 2022 also marked his Bollywood debut with Laal Singh Chaddha. He had an extended cameo role in the Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer.

8.    Chiranjeevi 

Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi had two releases this year, i.e. Acharya and Godfather. Though both the movies failed to flourish at the box office, Acharya marked another pairing of the Chiru with his son Ram Charan. Moreover, Godfather made it to the headlines for Salman Khan’s cameo.

9.    Ram Charan 

Mega Power Star Ram Charan was a part of the mega-blockbuster RRR along with Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt. He received high appreciation for his character portrayal in RRR. Ram Charan also shared the screen space with his father Chiranjeevi in Acharya.

10.    Kartik Aaryan & Ranbir Kapoor

Kartik Aaryan tasted great success with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The movie emerged as one of the most successful Hindi movies of 2022. After a whopping box office collection with BB 2, Kartik hogged the headlines for his future projects. His latest release is Freddy which premiered on Disney + Hotstar. This romantic thriller-packed movie seems to have highly impressed movie lovers with its unpredictable twists and sharp turns.

Even Ranbir Kapoor had two releases this year. While his first flick of the year Shamshera tumbled at the box office, Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva registered a whooping box office collection. Brahmastra emerged as the highest-grosser movie from Bollywood with Rs 430.77 crore worldwide gross collection. Recently, the movie has grabbed top nominations in several categories.
