A scene from Sky Force trailer
The much-awaited release of Sky Force's first song, ‘Maaye,’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, has sparked controversy. The patriotic song, released this month, has gone viral on YouTube, amassing nearly 9 million views. However, the song's release was met with drama.
The controversy came after lyricist Manoj Muntashir expressed his displeasure as his name was omitted from the clip’s credits, while the names of composer Tanishk Bagchi and singer B Praak were included.
Muntashir took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concerns, stating that removing a writer's name shows "utter disrespect for the craft and fraternity."
Please note @jiostudios , @MaddockFilms @saregamaglobal , This song is not just sung and composed but also written by someone who has given all his blood and sweat to it.

Threatening legal action, Muntashir warned that if his name was not corrected in the credits, he would disown the song and make his voice heard through legal means. Despite the controversy, the song has been well-received for its emotional depth and patriotic fervor.
‘Maaye’ features intense war scenes and emotional moments on the battlefield, including Sara Ali Khan as a pregnant woman and Nimrat Kaur in a poignant role.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force stars Akshay Kumar as an Air Force officer on a mission of revenge, alongside debutant Veer Pahariya.
Sky Force is set to release globally on January 24, 2025, just before Republic Day, promising a blend of action and emotion that celebrates national pride. The film is also anticipated to compete with recently released hits like Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’, which has gone on to establish box office dominance weeks into its release.
