Prabhas has multiple big-budget projects in hand. Renowned directors from South and Bollywood are working with him. But of late it seems nothing is working right for him. His last much-touted release Adipurush helmed by Om Raut not only was a big debacle but was also heavily criticised for its poor VFX and unrealistic depiction of Lord Rama and related characters.
It is noteworthy that Om Raut has delivered a big hit like Tanhaji: An Unsung Hero with Ajay Devgn which is why the expectations from Adipurush were very high.
Despite having a big producer like Bhushan Kumar to bankroll the project, the movie was rejected by the audience.
Salaar postponed
His next release Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire was supposed to be released on September 28 but has been postponed to November because the makers are not happy with the VFX. Prashanth Neel, the KGF fame director was recently spotted doing a puja for Salaar on Janmashtami triggering speculations that maybe things are not going as expected for Salaar.
Now, it needs to be seen whether Hombale Films manages to release the film in November or if it gets delayed further.
Kalki 2898 AD- Delayed release date
Prabhas’ another biggie is with Nag Ashwin who is a famous South Indian director. The film also features other big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and more, and is scheduled to release in January 2024. The release date for this movie has been pushed a few times since 2022 owing to COVID-19 and then due to some technical issues.
The first look of Prabhas as Kalki was unveiled during the Comic-Con 2023 fest and the initial response was not good enough. Many compared it to Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and ridiculed the appearance of Prabhas. While the makers tried their best to create the hype, it has not created the level of anticipation expected.
New announcements- Lord Shiva in Manchu’s next, Spirit with Sandeep Reddy
Recently it was announced that Prabhas has agreed to play Lord Shiva in Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming movie Kannappa. While it will not be a full-fledged role of a hero, the Rebel star is expected to occupy the screen at least for 30 minutes.

Bhushan Kumar and Prabhas are reuniting for another project titled Spirit to be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The Tollywood superstar will be playing the role of a badass cop in this film. As of now the movie is expected to go on the floors in June 2024 but no one knows any details about its release.
Prabhas has also reportedly completed shooting for an untitled film secretly with Maruthi. Although the official announcement is not made yet, the superstar is very much a part of this project. After Salaar 1, he will next have to move on to Salaar 2.
While the names of the projects, and directors all look good on paper in reality nothing worth mentioning is happening in his career which gives a dismal feeling that maybe everything has come to a standstill for the Baahubali actor.
