Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush hit the theatres on June 16 and from day one the cinematic adaption of the Indian epic has been receiving mixed reviews. While fans are in awe of Prabhas portraying the character of Raghav, the movie got heavily trolled for several other things including other character portrayals and VFX.

Filmmaker Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir had to face brutal criticism for various reasons. After getting backlash for the 'cringe' dialogues used in the movie, the makers made the announcement to alter some of the dialogues.

Amid criticism, Adipurush has earned Rs 340 crore worldwide in the first weekend and has breached Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan. The gross collection proves that criticism failed to impact the flick’s box office numbers. Even the craze for the Baahubali actor is quite obvious from the box office reports.

However, did you know, Prabhas initially turned down the offer to play Raghav in Adipurush?

Yes, recently during an interview, helmer Om Raut revealed that Darling Prabhas at first denied to play the character but he later convinced him, which was not easy either.

India Today quoted Raut as saying, “To be honest, it was not easy to convince him because I had a conversation with him on the phone during the pandemic when we were all stuck. The conversation went like this, ‘He asked me what is it that you want me to play? So I said, are you serious? I mean, I want you to play Prabhu Shri Ram. I want you to play the character of Raghav.”

Further, Raut added, “He said, are you sure? I said, yes. Then he was like how will this happen? It was impossible to narrate the film on a Zoom call to such a big star.”

Later, the director flew to Hyderabad from Mumbai the same day after arranging a pilot. However, his efforts yielded results after he narrated the film. Raut recalled that Prabhas was very excited.
