Prabhas to play Lord Shiva next in Vishnu Manchu's movie

It is a joyous moment for Prabhas fans as reportedly the Tollywood superstar has signed his next project with Vishnu Manchu. Importantly, he is expected to play the role of Lord Shiva in this film. The speculations started circulating after director Vishnu Manchu replied to a tweet of Ramesh Bala on X.

In his tweet, Bala penned that Rebel star Prabhas will be seen playing an important role in Manchu’s project Kannappa-A True Epic Indian Tale! In reply, Manchu wrote, “Har Har Mahadev” triggering rumours about the Baahubali actor playing the role of Shiva in this movie. Prabhas has the right personality that can be impressive as a God on the big screen. Baahubali proved that the Tollywood actor can be highly impactful in larger-than-life roles.

However, his last release Adipurush directed by Om Raut in which Prabhas portrayed Lord Ram performed dismally. The big-budget film not only was a dud at the box office but faced a lot of flak for overdramatic and unrealistic representation of the mythological characters. Apart from that the VFX looked so childish and unconvincing that people just thought that many scenes looked like a part of kids’ cartoon series.

Prabhas is known to do big-budget movies. But Kannappa is not that huge budget and star cast wise but still, the actor has supposedly given his nod for the film. Apart from that the superstar has two major projects lined up for release including Prashanth Neel’s Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 D.

Salaar 1 was supposed to release on September 28 but now the movie’s release date has been pushed to November around the time when Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tige 3 will release. Reportedly, there was a lot of finishing work on VFX pending which is why its release has been postponed.
