Anu Agarwal opens up about her topless scene in The Cloud Door, addresses 'relationship' rumours with Mahesh Bhatt
Actress Anu Aggarwal shot to fame with her debut flick Aashiqui. The romantic flick, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt, was commercially and critically successful, particularly because of its music. Anu played the role of an innocent character in the movie opposite Rahul Roy. For her ability to deliver scenes in just one take, Bhatt famously called her the 'one-take artist'. She won the hearts of moviegoers with her impressive performance in Aashiqui. However, she left everyone surprised by baring it all and doing a bold topless scene in a short film The Cloud Door. Moreover, rumours of her relationship with Mahesh Bhatt also made the rounds.
Recently, during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up about going topless and her relationship rumours with Mahesh Bhatt.
In 1994, Anu worked in an Indo-German short film, directed by acclaimed Indian director Mani Kaul. The short film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival later and also travelled to several other film festivals. In the movie, Anu shot the topless scene only after the movie was selected for Cannes.

During the interview, Anu said that when the director asked her to shoot the bold scene, she was shocked as it was not a part of the original script. Initially, she rejected the idea and was caught off guard by the topless scene. On the 29th day of the shoot, the director introduced the scene unexpectedly, leaving her shocked.
"On the 29th day or so, he came and told me about this scene, saying it would be a night shoot. I was shocked. I asked, ‘What do you mean?’ I told him, ‘This wasn’t in the script. Based on that, I won’t do it.’ It’s not that I couldn’t do it, but I chose not to," said Anu.
Further, she added that she didn't know that the scene was going to be a part as it wasn't in the script.
Anu said, "It’s not that I couldn’t do it, but I chose not to.”
After wrapping up, she returned home to Mumbai but a month later she started questioning herself why she refused to do the scene.
"Then I thought, ‘No, it was unethical. It should have been part of the script.’ When you narrate the entire script, you should mention everything, including such scenes. That way, I could have made an informed choice,” she said.
Further, Anu explained that the director contacted her after a month and informed her that the movie was selected but the scene (bold) remains. Finally, she agreed to do the scene, despite her reservations.
During the same interview, Anu said that she was living alone in Mumbai without her parents. Though she forayed from modelling to acting, she nailed her scenes in a single take that prompted filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt to call her a 'one-take artist.' However, this was not accepted by all which might have sparked jealousy among the haters.
Following that rumours started circulating about their (Anu and Mahesh) relationship and favouritism. However, Anu opted to ignore the speculations and focused on her life.
