Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is known for his philanthropic activities through his Being Human foundation. Apart from that, he is also known for reaching out to help colleagues and others in need. Fans are well aware of Salman helping actress Dia Mirza’s mother and reaching out to her at midnight.

Recently, actor Rahul Roy, who gained fame with the blockbuster musical romantic drama Aashiqui, revealed how Bhaijaan helped him to clear his medical bills after he suffered a brain stroke. Moreover, he also revealed how none of the Bollywood biggies, with him he had worked in the past, called him during his tough times.

Rahul garnered immense popularity overnight with the release of Aashiqui in 1990, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring Anu Aggrawal as the female lead. Following the massive success, Rahul got flooded with offers. Reportedly, he signed 47 films in 11 days post the success of Aashiqui, which remains a record till date.

In 2020, Rahul suffered a brain stroke while he was shooting for LAC - Live the Battle in Kargil. He was immediately rushed to Wockhardt Hospital, where he underwent angiography of the brain and heart. Later, he was admitted to the ICU at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.

During an interview, when Rahul was asked if Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt or any other biggies from the industry reached out to him, the Junoon actor revealed a heartbreaking episode.

Rahul confirmed that none of the BTown biggies like Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor or Manisha Koirala, with whom he had worked in several movies, reached out to him after he suffered a brain stroke.

However, Rahul stated it to be okay. Further, Rahul’s sister Priyanka went on to add that no one from his family too called him. 

“When his own brother has not called, how can we expect from the stars?” Priyanka was quoted as saying.

Further, the brother-sister duo revealed that Salman cleared the pending medical bill. 

“Salman did not know about his situation. But when he found out, he called. He never created news out of it. This is not some kind of ceremony or award that you need to publish, I realised this man (Salman) is a gem,” Priyanka said.

Meanwhile, Rahul added, “The pending bill of the hospital was cleared by Salman in February. He called and asked if he can be of any help and he helped. I am very thankful to him.”

Rahul also revealed that Sallu cleared a bill of over Rs 2 lakh and said that he wishes to pay him back.

Well, such a kind gesture by Salman Khan will certainly earn him more respect and love. Salman has multiple times proven of being a good friend by reaching out to his colleagues and friends in need of help. For the unversed, Rahul Roy and Salman Khan have worked together in 1996’s movie Majhdhaar, which also starred Manisha Koirala as the female lead. In the movie, Salman and Rahul were best of friends and shared a cordial bond. Though they haven't worked in any other movie, Sallu proved his friendship with his kind gesture by helping Rahul financially at a crucial time.

Well, during the interview, Rahul also expressed his wish to work again. “I am doing much better now financially. I need work. If I get work, then I will be happy,” he said.
