After Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans returning to MCU with 'Avengers: Doomsday'!
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)'s Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr and Captain America, portrayed by Chris Evans were among the most loved and popular Avengers. However, MCU pulled the curtains down on several iconic characters in Avengers: Endgame including Iron Man and Captain America leaving the fans disheartened. Well, their exit from the MCU was shocking for fans indeed. However, the announcement of RDJ's return to MCU as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday thrilled his fans. And now, reports have surfaced that Chris Evans will also make a comeback to the MCU and will be seen in Avengers: Doomsday.
As per a recent report by The Wrap, like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans will return to MCU. While reports claim that Evans will join RDJ in Avengers: Doomsday, it is unclear if he will reprise his iconic role of Captain America or Johnny Storm (from Fantastic Four).
Notably, Evans' last appearance as Captain America was in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Captain America aka Steve Roger's character arc was brought to a close in the movie. However, he once again appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman but not as Captain America. He briefly reprised his role as Johnny Storm and was subsequently killed by Cassandra Nova.
While RDJ's return to MCU as Doctor Doom is confirmed, the reports of Evans' comeback have filled excitement among fans. Evans and RDJ aren't just the only MCU veterans making a comeback. Joe and Anthony Russo, who have directed numerous Avengers movies and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will be also directing Avengers: Doomsday. Well, as it seems, it is all shaping up to be a big Avengers reunion as Disney tries to recapture some of the energy that helped MCU dominate the market. It can be expected to see some more faces from the Avengers in the new movie.
Well, fans need to wait for an official announcement from the makers regarding the cast in Avengers: Doomsday.
