Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies. The first glance of Brahmastra in the official trailer has raised the hopes of Hindi movie lovers. Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, the fantasy adventure flick is the first part of a planned trilogy.

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the first installment of Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. However, it is being speculated that several other popular actors will have cameo appearances in the movie including Shah Rukh Khan. It is speculated that SRK will be portraying the character of a scientist who will help Shiva in his quest.

The trailer showed a person in SRK's signature pose while holding a trident (Trishul). This has hyped the inclusion of SRK in the movie. However, there might not be any truth behind such claims.

Meanwhile, rumours are abuzz that Deepika Padukone will also have a cameo appearance in the first part which will develop into a major one in the second installment. As per the buzz, Deepika will essay the role of Goddess Parvati. On the other hand, when asked about SRK and Deepika's cameo, helmer Ayan neither denied nor confirmed the reports.

During an interview with Mirchi Plus, Ayan informed that he is unaware of any such developments. However, he termed the rumours as a ‘good suggestion’.

Ayan said, “I know nothing about this, Part 2 maybe. It is a good suggestion for Part 2 maybe you’ll get to see them then.”

Moreover, he didn’t mention any reports of SRK's cameo appearance in the flick.

However, Ayan quashed the inclusion of Goddess Parvati's character. He said, “One thing I want to tell you is that Brahmastra is not really about Lord Shiva. Ranbir Kapoor’s character is just called Shiva in it. My greatest hero is Shiv Bhagwan. There is a lot of inspiration that I’ve put in my own way into this film and into this character. So, there is no role of Parvati in Part One or Part Two or Part Three. To some extent, as it says in the dialogue of the movie, Isha is really Shiva’s Parvati (character Shiva’s Parvati) in this trilogy,” he added.

This statement from the helmer certainly has cleared the air that Deepika won't be seen as Goddess Parvati and they won't include the divine character in the movie. However, it can be expected that Deepika may be seen in a cameo role, either in part one or part two.

The movie scheduled for theatrical release on September 9, is a fantasy adventure flick that shows the quest of Shiva (Ranbir) to reach Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon. While Shiva poses supernatural power of fire element or rather called Agni Astra in the mystical universe of various Āstras (weapons), there are several others possessing supernatural powers.
