The easy flow of disinformation can land anybody in trouble if people are not aware of the authenticity of such news being circulated on social media platforms. With the Board Examinations 2023 round the corner, cyber fraudsters are trying their best to dupe several students and other stakeholders.

In one such incident, a fake website allegedly demanding registration fee for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board exam 2023 has come to notice.

The Centre's Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a fraud alert regarding the website which is demanding registration fee from CBSE board exam 2023 candidates.

A PIB factcheck has found that the fake website (https://cbsegovt.com) is demanding registration fee from students for appearing in board examinations.

“The website is fake. The official website of CBSE is ‘cbse.gov.in,” tweeted PIB Factcheck.

Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had issued a warning against fake time tables for Class 10 and 12 exams. Some fake date sheets for CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams are in circulation on several social media platforms and hence, students must not fall prey to those fake time tables, CBSE had warned.

It is pertinent to mention here that the annual practical examinations/ internal assessment and project assessments for session 2022-23 are scheduled to start from January 1, the annual theory exams are scheduled to start from February 15, 2023.
