OUTR master plan approved; Rs 1500 crore to be spent in 3 years

The master plan has been envisaged to upgrade the institute at par with IIT so that it can accommodate around 10,000 students. Currently, 4,600 students are studying at OUTR.

The newly-created Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), formerly known as the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), in Bhubaneswar will be upgraded with an objective to develop it at par with eminent institutes like IIM, IIT and NIT.

A sum of Rs 1500 crore will be spent for upgradation of the institute in a period of three years as part of the ‘master plan’ which has been approved by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
