Odisha’s Naima Khatoon becomes first woman VC of Aligarh Muslim University

Naima Khatoon has been appointed as the first woman Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, receiving approvals from President Droupadi Murmu and the Election Commission. A native of Jajpur, Odisha, she previously served as the principal of AMU's Women's College.

Odisha’s Naima Khatoon becomes first woman VC of Aligarh Muslim University

The prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has got its first woman vice-chancellor in the form of Naima Khatoon. Khatoon’s appointment recently received approval from the President of India Droupadi Murmu as well as the Election Commission in view of the model code of conduct being in place for the Lok Sabha elections.

Not many know that Naima Khatoon hails from Odisha’s Jajpur district and she is the first woman Vice Chancellor of AMU in its over 100 years of history.
