Ruhani (28) is among the top five aspirants in the recently announced results of Civil Services Exam (CSE), conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The Gurgaon lass secured an impressive AIR-5 to become an IAS officer.
Ruhani was already an IPS officer, but it was her dream to don the hat of an IAS officer. Despite several attempts earlier, she couldn't clear the exam to become an IAS by just a few marks. However, Ruhani did not give up and continued with her efforts.
Fortunately, her hard work paid off in her sixth and last attempt. Not just good rank, she has made it to the top 5 and has rightfully grabbed an IAS position.
“UPSC is our country’s toughest examination and we are thankful to God that despite such tough competition, our daughter has cleared it,” said her father to Indian Express.
According to reports, Ruhani attended a private school in Gurgaon and later went on to pursue Bachelor’s in Economics from Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College. Earlier, she had cleared the Indian Economic Service Exam and was posted as an Assistant Director at NITI Aayog.
However, it was her dream to become an IAS officer and started preparing for UPSC. However, it wasn’t a cakewalk journey for her as she had to face failures for four times. Every time she would get rejected for a couple of marks.
Luckily, she cracked the exam in her fifth attempt and was selected to IPS. Although she was undergoing training for IPS in Hyderabad, her heart was for IAS. Finally, with her undying determination and sheer will power, she fulfilled her IAS dream in her sixth attempt.
“It was my daughter’s dream to become an IAS officer and she got it in the sixth attempt. She is very happy,” her father added.
