Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially launched 13 new courses spanning diverse disciplines, aimed at meeting the evolving educational needs of students.
This addition underscores IGNOU's commitment to accessible education, a principle deeply rooted in the vision of its founding Vice-Chancellor, as highlighted during the 29th Professor G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture.
These additions not only expand IGNOU's academic offerings but also emphasise its responsiveness to contemporary educational demands.
By introducing specialized programs such as in the healthcare management, disaster risk reduction, and special education, IGNOU plays a pivotal role in democratizing education.
IGNOU has commenced admissions for its newly introduced 13 courses, each accompanied by specific eligibility criteria and fee structures tailored to accommodate diverse student backgrounds.
For General category students, an aggregate of 50% in graduation is mandate.
For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the eligibility criteria is set at 45% in graduation.
The semester fee for these courses is Rs 15,500.
The third semester, which includes project work, is priced at Rs 17,500.
These initiatives reflect IGNOU's commitment to accessible higher education by offering structured pathways for students from various communities to pursue specialised education in fields ranging from construction management and logistics to healthcare and special education.
