The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has released a notification regarding the implementation of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Courses in States/UTs for the academic session 2023-24.
As per the CISCE notice, the Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT, is offering these online Continuous CPD courses through the DIKSHA portal and mobile app.
Official sources said that the CPD courses are in accordance with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It emphasises on the continuous professional development of school heads and teachers to meet the needs of enriched teaching-learning processes for quality education.
As per the NEP 2020, each teacher and school principal is expected to participate in at least 50 hours of continuous professional development activities every year for their professional development.
“To maximise the outreach of these courses to the beneficiaries, it is requested that the CPD courses for the academic year 2023-24 be re-run. The enrolment has started from December 11 and the closing date is March 10, 2024. The Course ends on March 25, 2024,” CISCE said in its notice.
