Keep the screen private: One should stand close to the ATM screen to ensure no one sees your transactions. Many modern ATMs also have privacy filters, so use them effectively.
Shield your PIN: When you insert your card, check the card slot and keypad for any loose or any unusual attachments. This is because skimming devices can be used to steal your card details.
Avoid Public Wi-fi: While using your phone near an ATM for checking balances or receiving OTPs, avoid connecting to unsecured public wi-fi as it can expose you to hackers.
Enable transaction alerts: Register your mobile number to receive instant SMS alerts for all ATM transactions.
Use ATMs in safe locations: Prefer ATMs located inside bank premises, malls or other secure well-lit areas.
