Youth kills minor girl by slitting throat in Odisha, absconding 

In a shocking incident, a minor girl was murdered by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon by a miscreant at Kuio village under Sadar police limits in Angul district on Monday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Khusi Sahu while the identity of the accused was not immediately ascertained. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot. The reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained. 

According to a source, the minor girl and her mother were at home today morning. It was about 10 am when a youth forcibly entered their house and attacked the girl with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot. 

The family members immediately rescued the girl in a critical state and rushed her to Angul district headquarters hospital (DHH). However, she succumbed while undergoing treatment. 

On being informed, a team from the Sadar police station reached the spot and launched an investigation. While unrequited love is said to be the reason behind the crime, police have launched the investigation from all possible angles. 

A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, it was learnt.
