The Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Jeypore TPSODL Electrical SDO K Srinivas Patra while the latter was accepting a bribe from a man to provide him a job in the department.
As per reports, Patra had demanded Rs 20,000 from the complainant on the pretext of appointing him as a ladder man with the office of SDO electrical TPSODL.
"Patra recommend his name for ladder man, however, he continued to pester the complainant to give him the money as he had recommended his name. However, fade up with the constant bickering from Patra, the complainant approached the anti-corruption agency with the complaint following which a trap was laid," informed the DSP, Vigilance Jeypore division, Surendranath Panigrahi.

When the government official was accepting the bribe, the waiting Vigilance sleuths caught him red-handed and arrested him.
Meanwhile, the anti-corruption agency has also launched simultaneous searches at the properties associated with Patra along with his powerhouse colony house, ancestral house and office following his arrest.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Vigilance sleuths conducted raid on the houses and property of an Anganwadi worker from Bhubaneswar following allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.
