Three Odisha youths arrested for swindling Flipkart’s Rs 43 lakh

As per reports, Baunsuni police station had registered a case against the trio for cheating the e-commerce company to the tune of Rs 38 lakh in June. Kantamal police registered a case against them on July 4 for swindling Rs 1.94 lakh.

Police arrests 3 persons by Boudh police

Boudh Police arrested three persons on the charges of duping Rs 43 lakh from a reputed e-commerce company, Flipkart Private Limited. Of the three accused, two were working for a logistics company involved in distributing products and collecting money on behalf of Flipkart.

The two have been identified as Sunil Priyaranjan Pal (25) and his associate Ashish Ranjan Pradhan (24).

Nishikant Senapati, regional manager of the company which has entered into an agreement with Flipkart said, “Sunil Pal was in charge of operations, cash on delivery collection and deposits. He along with Ashish Ranjan duped the company to the tune of Rs 43 lakh by not depositing the money.”

The accused were arrested after separate cases were registered against them. As per reports, Baunsuni police station had registered a case against the trio for cheating the e-commerce company to the tune of Rs 38 lakh in June. Kantamal police registered a case against them on July 4 for swindling Rs 1.94 lakh.

Similarly, Kishorenagar police in Angul also registered a case against the three for cheating Flipkart to the tune of Rs 2.90 lakh.

Boudh SP, Raj Prasad said, “We have arrested three persons in the cheating case and recovered Rs 4.5 lakh. We have seized three mobile phones and a laptop. They were absconding since long and we arrested them when they were planning to return.”
