Amid the twists and turns in the death mystery of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Soumyaranjan Mohapatra, DIG Satyabrata Bhoi on Thursday said that the police have collected sufficient evidence in the probe and ‘everyone related to the case will be thoroughly questioned’.

Addressing a presser, Bhoi said, "I had a discussion with the SP (Paralekhimundi), investigating officer and Crime Branch officials over the case today. We also discussed about the findings in the investigation so far. Our investigating team recently returned from Mayurbhanj and Balasore after completing their probe. So far, we have made satisfactory progress in the case and we hope everything will be clear soon."

He further said that the police have so far gathered sufficient evidence from the investigation carried out by several teams. "Everyone will be quizzed. All those who are relevant to the case will be brought under the ambit of the probed," he said.

"It's a sensitive case and our investigation is in progress. We are yet to look at the case from different angles. Once the investigation is complete, we will reach at a definite conclusion about what had actually happened. Everything will be clear then," he added.

On the confusion over the crime spot, the DIG said that the investigation is underway. The police will look into all the doubts and concerns of the family members of the deceased. "We will ensure a full proof investigation," said Bhoi.

It is worth mentioning that the Crime Branch today claimed the circumstantial evidence gathered so far hinted at a fire mishap at the government quarters of the deceased officer. However, lawyer of the deceased officer's father has been claiming that the scientific team did not find any concrete evidence to drive home the fact that the fire actually occurred in the quarters.
