The lie-detection test reports of the three accused in the Paralakhemundi ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra's death case is out and submitted before the Odisha Crime Branch.

Wife of the deceased officer Bidya Bharati, Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and the cook working for the ACF, Manmath Kambha has undergone the polygraph test earlier this month.

The Crime Branch will examine the test reports of the three accused and match them with their earlier recorded statements. Thereafter, the CB will decide its course of action, informed Crime Branch ADG, Sanjeeb Panda.

All the three accused had undergone polygraph tests at the State Forensic Science Lab (SFSL) in Bhubaneswar a few days ago.

The polygraph test assumes significance as the family members of the deceased officer have been alleging involvement of the trio in the death and also named Bidya Bharati as a co-accused in the FIR they have lodged at the Paralakhemundi police station following the mysterious death of the young forest officer.

On July 11, Soumya Ranjan was found with burn injuries at his quarters and rushed to a hospital. However, a day later, he succumbed while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack.

Meanwhile, father of the deceased officer, Abhiram Mohaptra met the Crime Branch ADG on Tuesday and requested for reinvestigation of the case from the beginning.

He also demanded transfer of the DFO, arrest of Bidya Bharati and to bring several other staff and officials of the forest and police department under the ambit of investigation.
