There seems to be no let-up in loot and break-ins in Bhubaneswar. In the latest incident, two unidentified bike-borne miscreants swiftly took a bag containing gold and silver ornaments from in front of a jewellery shop under Airfield Police limits and fled from the spot on Friday night.

Like any other day, Manas Kumar Sahu put some gold and silver ornaments of his customers in a bag and came out of his shop. Leaving the bag on his bike seat, he went to lock the shop. Just then, a miscreant came, took the bag, and fled from the spot on a motorcycle.

The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed at the shop. In the footage, it can be seen that Manas chased the miscreants but failed to stop them.

On being informed, a team from Airfield Police Station reached the spot and launched a probe on the basis of the CCTV footage.

“The bag contained some customers’ gold and silver ornaments they had given me for repairing purposes. Leaving it on my bike seat, I went to down the shutter. Just then the miscreants came on a bike and fled from the spot with the bag,” said Sahu.
