“The theft is suspected to have taken place between 12.30 am and 4.30 am. Because we went to sleep at about 12.30 am and at about 4.30 am our neighbours alerted us that our house had been burgled. They alerted us after seeing the door of our house open. Our bedroom was latched from outside. They came and opened the door,” said the owner of the house.

“When we checked, we found gold ornaments weighing 15 ‘bhari’ and Rs 20,000 cash missing,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police have detained a person in this connection.
