Archana Nag, the mastermind of the high-profile honey trap case, on Thursday approached a higher court after the Bhubaneswar Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC)- 3 turned down her bail application.

Nag reportedly filed a fresh petition in the district and sessions judge court seeking bail in connection with a case registered against her for allegedly blackmailing well-known Odia film producer Akshay Parija.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar additional district judge (ADJ) court 2 rejected the bail petition of Jagabandhu Chand, husband of Archana. Chand was arrested last month for allegedly extorting money from influential persons by honey trapping them with the help of Shradhanjali Behera.

In a related development in the case, hotelier Siba Prasad Das appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today.

Accompanied by his lawyer, Das reached the ED office at around 10 am today to face questioning in the case.

As per some highly placed sources, Das’ name surfaced in the case after the ED, probing the money trail in the case, learnt that the hotel owned by Das was frequented by Archana and her associate Shradhanjali.

It was learnt that many deals of the honey trap racket were reportedly finalised at the hotel. Besides, there were some financial transactions between Archana and Das.
