The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch has arrested an IT graduate on charges of developing a website which was used for running a major job racket in the country. The accused, Amit Kumar Singh, a native of Kasdeora, Maharajganj in Bihar, was arrested on March 15 and brought to Odisha on a transit remand.

As per reports, the accused is the developer of the website - www.grks.org of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” which was used to float fake advertisements for jobs.

Earlier, the EOW had arrested the prime accused- Dharmpal Singh and his associate Jairam Tiwari in connection with the job racket.

Senior officials said that transaction, fraud and money laundering to the tune of Rs 6.6 crore has been traced so far and the money was cheated from more than 40,000 job aspirants across the country.

Apart from developing, Amit was maintaining the website by updating it from time to time. Besides, he was liaising with different payment gateways like Cashfree, Razorpay and Bharatpe for the maintenance of wallets of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” with them.

Amit was providing technical support to the job racket knowing it well to be fake and was getting Rs 40,000 per week from the account of Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan.
