Crime Branch starts probe into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya class 9 girl student’s death

A five-member Crime Branch team of Odisha Police has started a probe into the mysterious death of Soudamini Raita, a class 9 student of Betaguda-based Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya under Paralakhemundi block in Gajapati district.

The Crime Branch team started the probe by visiting the house of the deceased and interacting with her family members. It is pertinent to mention here that Soudamini was found hanging on school premises in February this year.

The reason behind her death is yet to be ascertained. Soudamini’s family members suspect foul play as they believe she was too young to take such an extreme step.

The family members have been demanding an impartial probe into the incident alleging their daughter has been murdered. Family members alleged that the exact reason behind Soudamini’s death is yet to be known even as four months have passed since the incident.
