In a major breakthrough, the special squad of Commissionerate Police arrested the kingpin of Cuttack’s arms smuggling syndicate from Bihar’s Munger area. 

The accused have been identified as Golden Singh, the alleged kingpin of the syndicate and his associate Wasim Khan. Three pistols and two live bullets have been recovered from Singh’s possession. 

Earlier, police had arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in arms smuggling. During the investigation, the police came to know that the firearms had been smuggled from Munger, Bihar.

Soon the police swung into action and a special team was sent to Munger. There with the help of the STF of Bihar police, the team managed to apprehend Golden Singh, the main accused. 

Later, the police also arrested Wasim Khan, a resident of Kesharpur area in Cuttack. 

Informing about the development, Cuttack DCP Kanwar Vishal Singh said, “When we had earlier busted the crime syndicate, some local people were arrested. During investigation a link to Munger in Bihar surfaced. Subsequently, we sent a special team to Munger and with the help of Bihar STF, the kingpin Golden Singh of the racket was arrested. During interrogation, we came to know that he was the main supplier of firearms to Cuttack and nearby districts.”
