The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police has arrested the main accused involved in the seizure of 200 grams of cocaine worth around Rs 50 lakh from Bhubaneswar in April this year. The accused, identified as Gulbesh Khan alias Hazarat was arrested by the STF following a raid at Ghaziabad with assistance from Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police STF.

Earlier, two inter-state drug peddlers- Ravi and Sunny Kumar who hailed from Rajasthan were arrested by STF from Salia Sahi area in Bhubaneswar on April 12, 2022.

STF sources had earlier revealed that the two accused- Ravi and Sunny Kumar, who were arrested for possessing 202 grams of Cocaine, were planning to create an illegal syndicate of the drugs trade ahead of the Hockey World Cup event in the state capital in 2023.

Ravi used to run a hotel business in Rajasthan and also operated a travel agency in Delhi. It was during 2010 Common Wealth Games that he had come in contact with the Delhi-based supplier of Cocaine, the STF probe had revealed.

Sunny Kumar, the other accused who was arrested in the case, is a relative of Ravi. Sunny along with his wife used to sell bangles in Bhubaneswar. Both the accused had claimed to have procured the cocaine from Gulbesh Khan who was absconding since their arrest.
