A 25-year-old woman met the Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi on Tuesday evening demanding action against her husband for allegedly posting her intimate photos and videos by hacking her social media accounts.
The woman, a resident of Sundarpada area in Bhubaneswar also alleged that her husband, a system engineer in Hyderabad-based company and a resident of Banki area in Cuttack, used to physically torture her over dowry demand.

A case in this regard was earlier lodged by the woman on July 2 at the Mahila Police Station in the Capital City.
“My husband used to fight with me over dowry demands. A month ago, he hacked my Facebook and Instagram accounts and posted our intimate videos with captions. Later, I approached the local police station in Banki for help following which they took me to my in-laws house for investigation. However, the door was locked from outside. When I inquired regarding his whereabouts with the car driver, he told that he (husband) along with his parents has gone to Ranchi the same morning,” alleged the complainant.
“Later, I lodged an FIR in this regard at the Mahila Police Station but no action was taken against him. He even got a bail in connection with the cases from Orissa High Court. However, he again uploaded my intimate videos on my social media accounts two days back. I want his immediate arrest and stringent action should be taken against him,” told the woman who reached the CP office yesterday seeking help in connection with the case.
“They (in-laws) had no demands before marriage but I was being tortured by my husband ever since we got married. He used to hurl abuses on me saying that my parents did not give him anything as dowry,” added the woman.
Reports said the two got married six months back and were residing in Banki with their family. However, the woman left the house after she was beaten and tortured by her husband repeatedly.
On the other hand, the woman’s husband refused the charges against him. “I will submit the proofs and other documents before the court. I am cooperating with the police and I will fight the case in the court,” said the accused.
Meanwhile, Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi assured the case will be investigated and justice will be ensured.
