BJD leader from Bargarh, Pranaya Sahoo has landed in a controversy after a complaint was registered against him on Sunday on charges of issuing threats and misbehaving with some police officials including the Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Gaisilat Police Station. 

The complaint was filed against the incident of highhandedness in which Pranaya reportedly barged into the police station and threatened the on-duty police officials including the ASI on September 16. 

As per reports, ASI Pramod Patra, stationed at Gaisilat police station, filed a complaint against Pranaya alleging that the BJD leader intruded into the police station and threatened the personnel on September 16. The complaint also stated that the BJD leader misbehaved with a woman ASI.

Meanwhile, Bargarh SP Rahul Jain informed that an officer of DSP rank has been entrusted with the responsibility for carrying out the investigation into the incident. 

"We have registered a case over the matter under FIR 180/21. Currently, we are investigating the case and more information about the incident can be known after concluding the investigation," said Jain. 

"Action will be taken against him (Pranaya) based on the probe reports," the SP added.
