Earlier on Monday, a couple, Om Prakash Choudhry and Jasmin Choudhry were arrested from Cuttack in this connection.

The couple was arrested after the rescue of the minor who was allegedly forced into the flesh trade in a massage parlour by them.

Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena on Tuesday informed that the accused Abdul used to work as a pimp and had engaged the minor girl in the prostitution racket. One person has also been detained and he is being interrogated, he said.

The victim is currently lodged in a short stay home in Cuttack under police custody. Efforts are on to establish contact with her family in Bangladesh to complete necessary formalities to hand over her custody.

The cops are trying to ascertain the involvement of others involved in the racket based on the statements of the victim. Pictures are also being showed to her to identify the culprits, sources said.

Earlier, the State Director General of Police (DGP) had stated that that a detailed investigation is being carried out to ascertain how the Bangladeshi women crossed the border and entered India.
