The barbaric incident which occurred at Rameyapalli village under Chamakhandi police limits of Ganjam district on June 19, came to light only after a video clip containing the act made way to the internet. As many as 14 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

In the disturbing viral video, the deceased, N Venkataraman along with two others, identified as Bhim Raju Reddy and P Dhabaleswar were seen being assaulted brutally by a mob. Hundreds of villagers were present when the trio was thrashed mercilessly.
