Bhubaneswar: Even as the Covid-19 graph continued with its downward trend, there seems to be no let up in the fatalities as 44 more deaths were reported from different parts of Odisha in the last 24 hours.

Khordha district recorded maximum number of deaths and infections. The district witnessed five fatalities and 700 new cases during the period.

Balasore, Bargarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar registered three deaths each.

As per I&PR department, Odisha on Monday reported 4339 new positive cases in last 24 hours.

With this, the Covid-19 positivity rate has come down to 6.3 per cent in the State. 68, 538 samples were tested in last 24 hours.
Of the 4,339 new cases, 2,475 cases were reported from quarantine centres, while the rest 1,864 are local contact cases.
Khurda district reported the highest 700 new cases, followed by Cuttack (480), Balasore (296), Angul (226), Bhadrak (209) and Jajpur (207).

As many as 17 districts recorded below 100 cases during the period.

The Covid-19 active case tally now stands at 55,923 active cases in the State. So far, 79, 6799 patients have recovered in the state, including 7733 new recoveries.
