The Odisha government on Monday relaxed the rules of mandatory Covid-19 negative report for those coming to the State for cyclone management work.

At present, producing RT-PCR negative report and Covid final vaccination certificate is mandatory for entering into Odisha from other states.

However, people coming to Odisha for the purpose of relief, repair, restoration and any other associated activities of cyclone management will be exempted from producing RT-PCR negative report and Covid final vaccination certificate for entering into the State, as per a circular issued by the office of State Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).

“In the wake of impending cyclone over Bay of Bengal, persons coming to Odisha for the purpose of relief, repair, restoration and any other associated activities of cyclone management shall be exempted from producing RT-PCR negative report and Covid final vaccination certificate for entering into the State,” the circular said.
Moreover, they will also be exempted from any type of quarantine rule.

The SRC however, clarified that they have to carry authorisation document in hard copy or in electronic form from the concerned authority for any cyclone management work and produce it to the police and administrative authority for entry and movement in the State.
