Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Wednesday said that the problem of the vaccine shortage will be sorted out soon and efforts are being made in this regard.

“We are now making available nine vaccines in the country and by December 31, 216 crore doses will be ready in the country. Our entire population will definitely get the COVID vaccine,” said Sarangi.

The BJP MP further said that both state governments and the Centre are working towards the vaccination for 18-45 age group and all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the same.

On the other hand, Odisha BJP general secretary Golak Mohapatra said 65.68 lakh people in Odisha have been vaccinated so far, out of which 64 lakh have got it for free of cost and now the State government should increase COVID-19 testing.

"It's not the time to get engaged in blame game. We have to unitedly fight against the virus. Centre has allocated 44.5 lakh Antigen kit. The State government should enhance testing, tracing and treatment."

However, taking a jibe at the ruling-BJD in the State, he said those who have got COVID vaccine must keep their certificate from the CoWIN portal. One can get no benefit from the vaccination certificate bearing the photo of Chief Minister, claimed Mohapatra.
