Bus overturns in Gajapati
At least two persons were killed, while another sustained critical injuries after the bike they were riding collided head-on with a hyva truck near Kakiriguma police station in Koraput district on Sunday night.

According to sources, the mishap took place when the trio was returning from Deomali in a bike.
A speeding bauxite-laden hyva truck, which was on its way to Kakirigumma railway station dumping yard from Kodingamali mines, hit them from the front leaving all of them critically injured. The trio was immediately rushed to Koraput hospital; however two of them died at the hospital, sources informed.
Meanwhile, locals blamed reckless driving of hyva drivers and administration’s apathy in managing the movement of trucks as the reason behind the frequent accidents in the area.
In another incident, as many as 23 passengers had a close shave after a bus in which they were travelling overturned near Raising ghat under Mohana police station in Gajapati district late last night.
The mishap took place when the bus named Kamadhenu was on its way to Berhampur from Rayagada. Luckily, all the passengers have escaped unhurt.
