The third phase counting of votes for the three-tier Panchayat Elections in Odisha is underway today. During this last phase of counting, polled votes will be calculated for 231 Zilla Parishad zones.
Out of the 315 Zilla Parishad zones counted on the first day, BJD had secured a massive 282 seats followed by 15 for BJP, 14 for Congress, and 4 for others.
Similarly, out of the 305 Zilla Parishad seats counted on Day 2, results in 270 seats have been declared so far. While BJD has already bagged wins in 236 zones, BJP has to settle for a distant second with 16 seats, Congress 15, and Independent/Others 3.
Results for the total of 851 Zilla Parishad zones are likely to be declared tomorrow after the conclusion of the entire counting process.
Hira Nayak of Pratap Purushottampur village in Puri district emerged victorious in the recently concluded Panchayat elections. She won the seat of Panchayat Samiti member by a slender margin of four votes.
The BJD has won 33 of the total 36 ZP seats in Kalahandi while the BJP has secured two seats and Congress one.
Out of the total 35 ZP seats in Sundargarh, the BJD has won 33 seats while BJP and others secured one seat each.
As per the latest trends, the BJD has maintained leads in nine of the total 13 ZP seats. The Congress party has managed to grab one seat.
Out of the total 18 ZP seats in Sambalpur, the ruling BJD has managed to grab 16 seats while the Opposition BJP wrested two seats.
Amid the BJD surge, the Congress party has managed to maintain leads from five seats in Rayagada district. The BJD has secured leads in 16 zones while the BJP and others have failed to open their account.
The BJP has secured five seats in Puri district while the ruling BJD maintained leads in 26 out of the total 33 seats. The Congress party and others have failed to open their account.
In Nayagarh district, the BJD maintained leads in 22 out of 24 ZP seats while BJP and others have bagged one seat each. The Congress party has failed to open its account in the district.
The BJD secured leads in 12 out of 14 ZP seats in Nuapada. The Opposition BJP and Congress party have bagged one seat each.
As per the latest data from the third round of counting, the BJD has secured leads in 24 out of 26 seats. The Congress party and others have secured one seat each while the BJP has failed to open its account.
The BJD surge continues in the Maoist-hit Malkangiri district where the ruling party has secured 12 out of 15 ZP seats while the Congress party has claimed three seats as per the latest trends.
As per the latest data, the BJD has maintained leads in 31 out of 32 ZP seats in Kendrapara district. The BJP has saved its face by securing one seat while the Congress party and others have failed to open their account.
The Congress party emerged as a major player in the southern Koraput district giving a tough fight to the ruling BJD. Unlike the BJD surge across the State, Koraput district saw the Congress party putting up an impressive show. As per the latest trends, Congress has wrested 12 out of the total 29 seats while the BJD maintained leads in 16 seats. While BJP has failed to mark its mark in the district, others secured one seat.
The BJD has maintained its dominance in Kandhamal district. The ruling party has secured leads in 13 out of the total 18 seats. The Congress party has bagged three zones while the BJP managed to capture two seats.
As per the latest trends available, the BJD has secured leads in 34 out of the total 37 seats. The BJP has made its presence felt in two seats while the Congress party and others have failed to open their account.
Out of the total 30 Zilla Parishad seats in Khordha district, the ruling BJD has managed to maintain lead in as many as 27 seats while Opposition BJP managed to secure two seats. The Congress party and others have miserably failed to open their account.
The Congress party has managed to maintain lead in only two Zilla Parishad (ZP) zones in Jagatsinghpur district while the remaining 24 seats went to the ruling BJD. The BJP and others have failed to open their account.
As per the latest data, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has bagged all the 39 Zilla Parishad (ZP) seats in Jajpur district. The latest trend came as a major embarrassment for the Opposition parties.
The Opposition BJP and Congress party as well as others have faced a major embarrassment in Jharsuguda district with the ruling BJD securing lead in all the nine zilla parishad seats in the district.
