Kapil Sharma is currently the topmost standup comedian on television. Co-produced by Salman Khan, his show The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most popular comedy shows. However, things were not always easy for the actor who struggled with blind items, fights, and alcoholism earlier. In a throwback interview, you can see the popular comedian sharing details about his abusive fight with a journalist. He also shares details about his struggles during bad times.
Kapil Sharma Revealed That One Journalist Wrote 160 Articles Targetting Him
During the interview, Arbaaz Khan who is the host reads out a question from a fan to Kapil, "You are a public figure and you have been hanged by media. Who knows the reporter guy. Kapil this is another nail in your stardom coffin." Arbaaz further reveals that according to film director Hansal Mehta, "Kapil's language with the journalist was despicable but also a reflection of his sad state of mind. The journalist in connection is no ethical saint either. He has harassed many people, spun many malicious stories, and has created stories with his misleading questions."
Arbaaz asked Kapil Sharma what made him use abusive language towards the journalist, what exactly happened? The standup comedian replied, "Pehele toh maine jo bhi language use kari woh galat thi. I agree. Main usss samay sense mein nahi tha. Woh jo period tha dedh saal ka. Log depression main hai, yeh hai woh hai bol rahe the. Mein bahot peene bhi laga tha. Aur obviously jab aap apni senses mein nahi hai toh aap kuch na kuch galat toh karte hi ho."
Kapil adds further, "Par uss samaye bahot sare journalist the jo likh rahe the. Maine sirf ek hi ko gaali kyu di. Woh isliye kyunki unhone che mahine me koi 160 articles mere baare mein likhe. Apko malum hai Arbaaz bhai mere show ka format hi aisa hai ki mai late ho hi nahi sakta. Agar aap 2 baje aa rahe ho toh muzhe 10 baje pahonchna hi padega. Char ghante paheli kyunki muzhe apne co-actors ke saath rehearsal karni hoti hai. Muzhe taiyyar hona hota hai. Bahut saari chizhe hai."
Kapil Says He May Have Canceled Shootings But Never Made Anyone Wait for Him
Kapil during the interview said, "Paheli baat toh yeh galat hai ki maine aaj tak aapne show mein kisiko late karwaya ya wait karwaya. Shoot cancel huwe hai main manta hoon. Par back to back article. Muzhe pata bhi tha ki ye kyun kar raha hai, kinke kahane pe kar raha hai. Toh bas woh gussa tha jo nikal gaya. Muzhe lagta hai ki agar main woh gussa nahi nikalta toh mere andar aur woh bhar jata."
Kapil Sharma said that he may get angry again and that he is not a saint. Talking about feeling guilty about the entire incident the standup comedian said that he might have hit the journalist had he met him at that time. Kapil said, "Aap 2013 se Mere Kaam Ko Jante ho.Aur meine Kaam start Kiya 1997 Se, Humne Earn Ki h ye Respect Aur pyaar, Aur Koi Chutki mein apke Bare mein Aisa likhate hoon aur uski side bhi nahi sunate hoon. Toh uss baat ka gussa tha."
From Comedy Nights with Kapil and the first season of The Kapil Sharma Show shutting down to negative publicity Kapil struggled with lots of issues a couple of years ago. His fight with Sunil Grover also maligned his image publicly. However, he bounced back with The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2 which is now doing very well.
