Drishyam 3 has been confirmed. Tabu recently confirmed during an interview that the third movie from the hit franchise is already in the pipeline. The latest report also suggests that Drishyam 3 will be released simultaneously in Hindi and Malayalam to ensure that the suspense does not get leaked.
Interestingly, Drishyam 2 is the 4th biggest hit of Tabu in the last few years. Despite doing fewer movies, she has delivered four big hits in four years which is a record unmatched even by any Bollywood male superstar in recent times. She was also a part of Salman Khan ’s movie Bharat, which did well at the box office.
In today’s scenario where even the big female heartthrobs of the 90s like Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla find it difficult to deliver mega-hits in theaters, this latest achievement by Tabu is indeed exceptional.
Andhadhun starring Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Radhika Apte was a big blockbuster of 2018. The Vijaypath actress played the challenging role of cold-blooded murderer Simi Sinha who leaves no effort unturned to kill the male lead when he finds Simi has killed her husband and is engaged in criminal activities. Tabu stunned her fans in Andhadhun with her impeccable acting and proved once again why she is different from the regular run-of-the-mill actress from Bollywood.
Tabu has been active both in Bollywood and in South Indian movies. Since she is from Hyderabad, the actress has always been eager to work in South Indian films. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is one of the biggest hits of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. Tabu played the role of Yasoda aka Yasu in the movie who is in a coma for a long period and hence comparatively had shorter screen space but played the role of mother to Allu Arjun with aplomb.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
BB2 was the epitome of Tabu’s acting skills, finesse, and expertise. Her first ever double role and Tabu made sure that she rocks both as Anjulika and Manjulika- one an intelligent, loved, and simple girl while the other as a jealous, cold-blooded murderer. Even though Kiara Advani was the female lead in the movie, Tabu and Kartik Aaryan played the meaty roles and were responsible for BB2’s stupendous success.
Tabu returned as I.G. Meera Deshmukh with this sequel which is already a big blockbuster. Most of the star cast in this movie is the same as in the first movie from the Drishyam franchise. However, the entry of Akshaye Khanna has indeed added magic to Drishyam 2.
Once again Tabu as the distressed and angry mother of Sam, who is convinced he was killed by Vijay Salgaonkar and his family, comes across as a strong and ruthless character, one who can go to any lengths to extract the truth from Salgaonkar.
