Ever since the announcement of Anurag Basu’s romantic drama starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, fans have been buzzing with excitement- not just for the film, but for its elusive title. The movie’s shooting has already wrapped up major schedules, yet the suspense around what it’s actually called continues to spark curiosity across social media. For months, speculations were rife that the film was Aashiqui 3.

However, director Anurag Basu had earlier dismissed the rumour, clarifying that his upcoming venture isn’t a part of the Aashiqui franchise. Now, fresh reports claim that the film will be titled 'Tu Meri Zindagi Hai'.

Keeping the ‘Aashiqui’ Nostalgia Alive

According to sources quoted by Mid-Day, the Kartik Aaryan-Sreeleela starrer is slated for a May 2026 theatrical release. When the film was first announced, fans immediately connected it to the legacy of Aashiqui. But Basu made it clear - this is a standalone romantic film with its own unique soul. Interestingly, insiders reveal that the team still wanted to preserve a sense of nostalgia.

“The team wanted a name that evoked nostalgia, but didn’t risk legal or creative complications. Tu Meri Zindagi Hai felt like the perfect fit,” a source told Mid-Day.

The title, reminiscent of the classic Aashiqui era, seems to strike the perfect balance between freshness and familiarity.

A Heartfelt Love Story in Picturesque Locales

From leaked photos and clips that have surfaced online, the film appears to be an emotionally charged love story with music at its heart. The team has already filmed major portions in Sikkim and Darjeeling, capturing scenic backdrops to complement its soulful narrative.

Currently, the crew is working on the Mumbai schedule, with filming expected to continue until late 2025. The final patchwork is likely to be completed by early 2026.

“With the release more than six months away, it gives the team time to weave in some additional tracks,” shared a source close to the production.
