Kartik Aaryan wants Aashiqui 3 under franchise not a standalone!

Kartik Aaryan is currently basking in the success of his recent release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, also starring Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. The horror-comedy flick's total worldwide box office collection on day 11 stands at Rs. 321.75 Crore. Well, the recent success seems to have taught Koki a smart tactic of connecting with the audience and turning the movie successful. As per a recent report, Kartik is keen to lead the romantic drama Aashiqui 3, which was shelved following Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt's legal battle.

The announcement of Aashiqui 3 was done in 2021 with Kartik and Triptii in the lead. At the time Anurag Basu was to direct the third instalment of the Aashiqui franchise, with Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar producing it.

However, T-Series clarified that it is not producing Aashiqui 3 and if the project is initiated, it will be jointly produced under T-Series and Vishesh Films/Mukesh Bhatt. Even it quashed the rumours of Aashiqui 3 being produced under a different title. Later in September the Delhi High Court barred T-Series from incorporating the term 'Aashiqui' for any of their movies.

As reported by Mid-Day, the T-Series head honcho had announced in March that he alone was backing Aashiqui 3 , which was rechristened to 'Tu Aashiqui Hai' and it won't be a part of the Aashiqui franchise. Meanwhile, a month back Vikram Bhatt had announced reimagining of the Aashiqui franchise with a new title 'Tu Meri Puri Kahani', without using the term Aashiqui.

But, the latest report suggests that Kartik has introduced a new twist to the matter.

Mid-Day quoted a source as saying, "The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 has confirmed Kartik’s belief in the power of franchises. He has suggested to Bhushan that he initiate talks with Mukesh Bhatt to acquire the title. Kartik is certain that building the love story under the Aashiqui franchise will give it a push.”

Furthermore, the source also revealed that Kartik wants clarity on all aspects before he faces the camera.

Well, time will reveal if T-Series and Vishesh Films will jointly produce Aashiqui 3 with the same title under the popular romantic-drama franchise, or if both the production banners will produce standalone movies with different titles without using the term 'Aashiqui'.
