Popular stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has announced that he is taking a long break from comedy after revealing serious health concerns linked to genetic illnesses and years of physical strain caused by continuous touring and performances.
In a recent interview, Zakir said his body has been “damaged” due to relentless travel, lack of rest and back-to-back shows over the past decade. He explained that genetic health issues run in his family and tend to surface with age, making it necessary for him to slow down and prioritise recovery.
Zakir admitted that despite trying to push through, a recent tour in the US made him realise that continuing at the same pace was no longer sustainable.
