His tweet read, “There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons plus I have been trying to do this since a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage. One of the reasons were simple, I get bored pretty quick, thats why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored. I need to do some other music to live.”

In a rare admission, the singer spoke about creative restlessness - not fatigue, not pressure - but a hunger to evolve. He also added, “Another reason is I am excited to hear some singer come up and give me real motivation.”

It wasn’t an exit born out of burnout, but curiosity - the desire to explore music beyond the familiar studio mic.

Earlier, Arijit Singh warmly wished everyone a Happy New Year and thanked listeners for years of unwavering love. He shared that he would no longer take up new assignments as a playback singer, gently calling time on what he described as a beautiful journey. Grateful and reflective, he added that God has been kind, and he now wants to grow as an independent artist, learn more, and create music on his own terms. 

While he will complete pending commitments and some releases may still arrive this year, he assured fans that he isn’t quitting music - only changing his path. For fans, that last line became a lifeline - he isn’t disappearing, just changing paths.
