He said, “On more than a couple of occasions, there has been buzz that the 3 Idiots sequel is happening. The last time the reports came, it turned out to be for an ad campaign. Let’s see, hopefully this time it’s true."

Joshi further noted that if a sequel does take shape, the key decisions would rest with director Rajkumar Hirani, writer Abhijat Joshi and Aamir Khan.

A Nostalgic Look Back at 3 Idiots

Reminiscing about his journey with the cult classic, Joshi shared an anecdote from the time he was cast in the film.

He recalled, “I was in the gym, building six-pack abs when I got the final call from Raju sir. He told me ab 3 saal tak tu gym ki shakal nahi dekhega."

The actor described 3 Idiots as a fairytale experience, one that continues to bring a smile to his face even today.

Joshi also revealed how his earlier film Style played a key role in landing him 3 Idiots. He mentioned, “Style led me to 3 Idiots. Raju sir had seen me in the film and thought that someday he’d cast me in some movie. When we started shooting for 3 Idiots, he mentioned that to me."
