New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: With an aim to avoid any type of discrepancies in the evaluation process of the Class 10 and 12 answer papers, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reportedly decided to bring in a new norm.
As per the new rule, the answers paper will now ‘not be checked by a single teacher’ which has been in practise.
Now, two teachers will check the answer papers i.e., a single answer sheet will be evaluated by two teachers, reports Hindustan.
The Board has come up with this system to ensure more transparency in the entire evaluation process.
CBSE was marred with criticisms last year after huge errors were found in evaluation and totalling of the answer sheets of Class 12.
Parents believe that, CBSE is a premier school education board in the country and it must take a lead in doing enough to bring in transparency.

“We welcome the move, if the board has really taken such a step in the interest of the lakhs of students. Any error in the checking creates a lot of problems for the students and also affects their future,” said a parent.
Odisha had witnessed errors in evaluation of answer sheets, among others, last year which triggered strong resentment among the students and the parents.
Later, Orissa High Court directed CBSE to conduct re-evaluation of answer sheets of 159 students following a petition filed over discrepancies in publication of Class 12 results.
