Reports of leak of the recently conducted NEET-UG 2024 exam have spread panic among lakhs of aspirants. Hours after the prestigious exam was concluded on Sunday in 557 cities across the country and 14 cities abroad, the reports of paper leak emerged online.
Several social media posts have claimed that the question paper was leaked. Many social media posts claimed that some dummy candidates were paid up to Rs 40 lakh for the leak and were allegedly caught memorizing questions for Rs 20 lakh in Patna, Bihar.
Many online users claimed that a gang that is involved in the paper leak even sent dummy candidates. Allegedly, police raided areas where question papers were being distributed and have reportedly detained five suspects and interrogation is currently on.
Furthermore, many Hindi medium students complained that they were handed English question paper.
However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has refuted the reports of paper leak but admitted to the ‘error of wrong question paper’.
“The instances of paper leak being claimed are completely false… In an isolated incident at Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, students were given English medium question paper by mistake and by the time the invigilator could correct the mistake, the students forcefully walked out of the exam hall with the question paper,” Indian Express quoted a senior NTA official.
