Shocking! 2 minor girl gang rape cases reported from Balasore

Balasore: The incidents of sexual assault of minor girls continue to haunt and shame Odisha with two such cases being reported in a day from Balasore district.

In the first incident, a minor tribal girl was allegedly gang raped and sold to a brothel by one of her neighbours. The matter came to light after the girl reportedly escaped from the brothel and filed a complaint at the Jaleswar Police Station.

As per the survivor's complaint, a person from her village allegedly lured her with a good job in West Bengal and raped her along with another person. Later, she was sold to a brothel where she was raped for 45 days before she managed to escape.

In another case, a minor girl was raped by 5 persons under Raibania police limits of the district. The family members lodged a complaint with Raibania police after discovering the survivor to be 8 months pregnant.

As per reports, five persons had allegedly gang raped the girl after finding her alone at home. While police have arrested three accused (based on the complaint), other two accused are still at large.
